Welcome

I’m Shauna Bock, and I’m proud to be running for reelection to the Mounds View School Board. As a lifelong advocate for students, families, and educators, I remain deeply committed to ensuring that each child in our district has access to a high-quality, inclusive education. Over the past several years, I’ve worked hard to listen, learn, and lead with integrity—prioritizing transparency, equity, and academic excellence. I’m excited to continue this important work and would be honored to earn your support again.

Proudly Endorsed by the Mounds View Teacher's Union

    About Shauna

I’ve proudly called the city of Mounds View home for nearly 20 years, where I live with my husband, Nate, and our three children. Layla is a senior at Irondale High School, William is a freshman at Irondale, and Samantha is in 7th grade at Edgewood Middle School. Like many families, we moved to this community because of the strength of the Mounds View School District—and over the years, we’ve been grateful for the opportunities and support our children have received at Sunnyside, Edgewood, and Irondale.

As a parent, neighbor, and advocate, I care deeply about the future of our schools and the well-being of each student in our district. My passion for education and equity led me to serve on the Mounds View School Board, where I’ve worked to ensure that all students—regardless of background—feel seen, supported, and set up for success.

    Experience and Qualifications

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science from Metropolitan State University and a Master's Degree in Special Education from the University of St. Thomas. I’m licensed in both Social Studies and Special Education, and I also hold a K–12 Principal License as well as a District Special Education Director License.

Over the past 22 years, I’ve served in nearly every role in education—from paraprofessional to classroom teacher, school administrator, and Special Education Director. These experiences have shaped my deep understanding of how schools function and what students and staff need to thrive. Currently, I serve as the Director of Secondary Education for a statewide Adult Basic Education (ABE) program, where I support learners on their paths to high school completion, college, and career readiness.

    Why This Matters
My wide-ranging experience in public education allows me to approach school board decisions with a practical, informed, and student-centered perspective. I understand firsthand the challenges educators face and the resources students need to succeed—from early childhood through adulthood.

    Why I'm running again

I’m running for reelection because I believe in the power of public education to change lives and I’m committed to ensuring that all students in the Mounds View School District have access to the opportunities, support, and high-quality learning they deserve.

Over the past several years, I’ve worked hard to advocate for equity, strengthen student support services, and elevate the voices of families, teachers, and community members. But our work isn’t done. We are navigating complex challenges—from mental health needs to school safety to funding uncertenties—and we need experienced, steady leadership to make thoughtful, student-centered decisions.

As an educator, parent, and longtime resident, I bring both professional expertise and personal investment to this role. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and I’m running again to continue building a school district where every student can thrive—now and into the future.
